Cavatappi Mac and Cheese

Mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort food. This delicious Cavatappi Mac and Cheese recipe is a family favorite, loved by kids and  adults alike.


– 1 16 ounce box cavatappi pasta – 3 cups half and half, divided – ¼ teaspoon garlic powder – 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch – ½ teaspoon Kosher salt to taste – 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded by hand – 2 cups white cheddar cheese, shredded by hand

Step 1

Prep the ingredients.

Step 2

Cook the pasta until al dente, drain and set aside.

Step 3

Bring half and half, garlic and cornstarch to a simmer. Add half the cheese.

Step 4

Simmer, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted and sauce is thick and creamy.

Step 5

Add the cooked noodles to a large casserole dish.

Step 6

Pour the cheese sauce on top.

Step 7

Layer the remaining shredded cheese over the sauce.

Step 8

Add the optional breadcrumb topping.

Step 9

Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
