Lemon Chicken

Chicken Limone is a delicious Italian lemon chicken recipe. This  simple weeknight meal is full of fresh lemon flavor. Serve it over a bed  of pasta for a bright and delicious meal your whole family will love.


1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast – 2 teaspoons water – ½ cup all purpose flour – 2 tablespoons olive oil – 3 tablespoons butter divided – 2 whole lemons – 4 cloves garlic minced – 2 small shallots thinly sliced – ½ cup chicken stock – kosher salt to taste – fresh ground black pepper to taste – 4 sprigs fresh thyme

Step 1

Gather the ingredients.

Step 2

Bread the chicken cutlets with flour and season with salt and pepper

Step 3

Fry the chicken in olive oil until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 4

Slice one lemon and sear the slices until they release a little juice.

Step 5

Deglaze the pan with chicken stock and add shallots, garlic and juice of remaining lemon.

Step 6

Add butter and allow sauce to simmer for a few minutes.

Step 7

Return chicken to pan and top with lemon slices. Spoon sauce over chicken.

Serve immediately and enjoy!
