Smoked Gouda  Mac and Cheese

Smoked gouda mac and cheese is a simple and delicious stovetop macaroni and cheese recipe that is sure to become your new family favorite. With tender macaroni noodles and a thick and creamy cheese sauce, this is almost as easy as a store bought box, but so much better.


– 1 pound elbow macaroni – 1 ½ cups half and half divided – 1 tablespoon cornstarch – 1 teaspoon kosher salt to taste – 2 cups freshly grated gouda cheese – 1 cup freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese – freshly ground black pepper to taste

Step 1

Gather the ingredients.

Cook the pasta according to package instructions.

Step 3

Warm 1 cup half and half over medium heat.

Step 4

Whisk together remaining half and half and cornstarch to form a slurry. Add slurry to the sauce and stir until thickened.

Step 5

Add freshly shredded cheese.

Step 6

Stir in cheese until melted, forming a thick creamy sauce.

Step 7

Add hot cooked noodles to the sauce.

Step 8

Stir well to combine the pasta and sauce.

Step 9

Serve immediately!
