Easy Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes

Homemade sour cream mashed potatoes are a delicious  side dish. Perfectly  creamy and rich, these simple mashed potatoes are sure to be a family  favorite on the weeknights, or a hit at your holiday table!


– 5 pounds Yukon gold potatoes – 8 ounces sour cream (1 cup) – 4 tablespoons butter – 1-2 cups milk – 4 tablespoons chopped chives – kosher salt to taste – black pepper to taste

Step 1

Gather the ingredients. 

Step 2

Cover peeled and chopped potatoes with cold water.

Step 3

Boil potatoes for 10-15 minutes until fork tender, then drain.

Step 4

Add sour cream, butter and half the milk.

Step 5

Mash until large lumps are gone.

Step 6

Use a spoon to stir in remaining milk until smooth.

Step 7

Stir in chives and salt and pepper to taste.
